Delta Air Lines opens 1st Sky Club Express at Boston, Delta is making big changes to Boston by opening a brand-new Sky Club Express, expanding the current A18 lounge, and starting a new shuttle bus service for connecting flights.

More improvements are coming to Delta Air Lines’ Boston hub. As the hub continues to attract more flights, the airline is finally upgrading the terminal and lounge.

Delta has expanded its current Sky Club in Terminal A at Gate A18, and it has constructed a brand new Sky Club Express in Boston to help reduce lounge congestion in the international terminal.

In addition, the airline recently introduced a new bus service between the domestic and international terminals, allowing for more smooth connections for long-haul passengers.

Since turning Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) into a hub in June 2019, Delta has continued to expand.

The airline’s Boston-centric development has included both new domestic and international routes, as well as two new flagship long-haul flights, updated aircraft, and terminal enhancements.

The airline is now preparing for the peak winter travel season by bringing its A-game to Boston, where it competes with JetBlue Airways and others for the local market.

First Delta Air Lines Sky Club Express

The first Sky Club Express, a new sort of lounge for the airline, has opened in Boston.

This tiny club, located on the lower level of Terminal E, was created as a temporary solution to the lounge overpopulation in the international terminal of the airport. It is open every day from 1 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.

Historically, Delta has directed its premium class customers and elite frequent fliers to the Air France Lounge or Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse in the airport.

Although this arrangement may have worked in the past, the airline continues to expand its international network out of Boston, resulting in congestion at these partner lounges.

Delta’s long-term plan is to construct a brand-new flagship Sky Club in Terminal E; however, this 20,000-square-foot venue will not open until the summer of 2023.

In the meanwhile, Delta opted to construct a temporary Sky Club Express to provide its long-haul passengers with a superior alternative.

This area is accessible by elevator and is situated one story below the departures level.

Just beyond the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, the Sky Club Express is situated in a brilliantly lighted yet slightly dismal corridor.

The area occupies the old location of The Club at Boston’s Boston branch, which shuttered during the pandemic and has never reopened.
